12. Gypsy and the Cat - Gilgamesh
The duo of Gypsy & The Cat released their debut full-length album in October. Their electronic, rock, pop, folk vibes really make 'Gilgamesh' a highlight album for the year, especially from the Australian representatives anyway. Thankgod for the Triple J Radio Unearthed Program or perhaps these 21 year old Melbourne locals may never have been discovered. The album clearly has influences from their love for French electro/disco, and you can't deny the unmistakeable 80's ballard anthems. Of particular note must be 'Jona Vark', 'Time To Wander' and 'The Piper's Song.'
